…when it’s important to know
Kongsberg Aeronautical’s Dynatron Aviation provides runway braking capability, Braking Action. This assists airline network operations control centers and flight crew in decision making related to optimization and safety during takeoff and landing.
Kongsberg Aeronautical’s Dynatron Aviation™ system is a real-time system that ties together an aircraft-based runway braking capability assessment method with the need of such information for flight operational users at airlines. Dynatron Aviation comprises several Kongsberg Aeronautical proprietary functions.
On-board aircraft are Kongsberg Aeronautical’s program function which is based on its patented and proprietary algorithm. The Dynatron Aviation program function is coded in Teledyne Controls’ Application Generation Software (AGS), whereupon it is uploaded to the aircraft ACMS (Aircraft Condition Monitoring System).
It is a resident system reading flight data in real-time. During the aircraft stopping run Dynatron Aviation assesses the prevailing braking capability and creates a message.
DATA TRANSMISSION & RELAY
Upon end of the stopping run, the message is transmitted via one of the aircraft’s ground communication systems to airlines’ data server. At airline’s data server, the message is packed and formatted for further relay through direct data communication to Kongsberg Aeronautical’s data processing server.
This is an automatic and real-time function.
Kongsberg Aeronautical’s data processing server receives all incoming aircraft message transmissions relayed from airlines’ data servers. At this stage, all incoming messages undergo a quality assurance process. This quality assurance process is developed by Kongsberg Aeronautical and is proprietary.
Processed data is converted into data [integration] file containing information about airport, runway, and runway condition according to FAA SAFO 16009.
Kongsberg Aeronautical’s data processing server is hosted by Amazon Web Services.
Runway condition information is by airlines typically used in flight planning or situational awareness software programs for decision support. Situational awareness programs fuse a multitude aeronautical information such as weather, NOTAMS etc. into one user interface for ease and logical data flow purposes for users at airlines.
The Dynatron Aviation data integration file can be integrated with such systems and form part of the user interface through look-up/queries and or alert functions.
